Joey

Little Joey was rescued from a shelter in the Metroplex after his owner released him at 3 months of age.  We speculate his “owner” is a backyard breeder of the new fad of designer dogs; this one being a “Chiweenie” which is a mix of Chihuahua and Dachshund.  This little guy was not lucrative for them because he was born with a deformed knee.  The “breeders” might have decided he was useless and in their way and gave him to the shelter to take care of.  We saw how cute he was and saved him before he was euthanized.  He has seen one of our vets who referred us to a specialist.  The specialist thinks his knee can be repaired when he is about 4 months old.  The estimate is between $1000-$1500.  We feel this little guy is worth it!  Don’t you?  We need your help to help Joey live as normally as possible.
